In love with life..

Its not just a caption/status msg, But yes, I love life, not as much as I would ideally want to, But nevertheless… I do.

Isnt it beautiful that this world offers so much.. so much to experience,to feel,to laugh about, to cry about, to see, to remember, to cherish…

They are different places to be seen.. Each a world in its own, every place has its own elements,its own colors, its own nature.

There are different people to be met, each person made by God.. each person driven by a thought process guided by what he has experienced in life and what he is going through. He/she touches your life and you leave a mark on others.

Different emotions.. Your heart might soar with happiness or you might be feeling dark and gloomy.. Each emotion is a part of the spectrum, you might be on top of the spiral, or you might be sliding down..

Be it the pitter patter of raindrops or the cold wind blowing against my skin. I love it all.

Do I have an appetite for life? I would say, Bring it on!

Radha & Meera

Today is Janmashtmi, and I want to write about two women who loved Krishna. Its their love for Him which is so pure, so selfless, that it makes me believe in Him more.

Radha,the eternal consort of Lord Krishna, Radha embodies the totality of love for Krishna. Like sun and sunshine, they are one… part of the same being.

The story of her birth goes like this – On a half-moon night in the month of Bhadra, King Vrishabhanu came to the Yamuna to bathe and found himself engulfed in a golden aura, the golden aura of pure love. It was emanating from a lotus, which had a baby girl standing on its whorl. When the king returned to the palace with the baby, Queen Kirtida was delighted. She was also shocked that the girl was blind.

Lord Krishna’s mother, Yashoda, heard that her best friend Kirtida had a baby, so she came to visit along with her husband and her son. Krishna crawled up to the cradle and pulled Himself up and looked in. At that moment, Srimati Radharani’s eyes fluttered and opened wide and blossomed like lotuses. It seems that she did not want to see anything of this world, only the form of Sri Krishna.

Although it is said that Krishna was so beautiful that He could attract millions of Cupids and was therefore called Madan-mohan, “the attractor of Cupid,” Radharani could attract even Krishna. She was therefore called Madan-mohan-mohini—”the attractor of the attractor of Cupid.”

For me, she symbolizes true devotion, selflessness, caring, nurturing, and love in its purest form. The reason why I think Krishna found her to be most the attractive was because of her devotion and her love for him. Sri Krishna says in Bhagavad-gita that as one surrenders unto Him, He reciprocates accordingly.

True love means no expectations and unconditional caring. Its said, once Rukmani asked Radha in her dream,”Why is it that whenever your name comes up in a conversation, Krishna gets very sad” Radha’s response,with tears flowing from her eyes,”Please never remind my Krishna about me,if it brings tears to his eyes”.

If I talk about Love for Krishna, how can I forget Meerabai? Meera’s love for Krishna was purest, noblest and unparalleled.The most unconditional, that I have ever known.. One that does not seek, just gives. Some say she was reincarnation of Radha.
She imagined herself to be one of the Gopis, Lalita, and knew Krishna’s heart lay somewhere else.

Are they opposites?

Love is same, devotion is equal. Its the manifestation of their love which differed…

There is this song which keeps coming to my mind when I think of both. I think it does capture the difference in their devotion..

P.S. I have struggled hard to understand all this, maybe the comprehension still evades me.
But then I feel you cannot understand if you try to see all this through eyes which are habitual to see the material world, you are bound to misconstrue..

Well..
Generally Punjabi pop music is thought as high energy, dance-able nonsense.. If not, certainly I did think that for a brief period of time.
Although I love the folk songs, (esp tappe’s etc), but I just could not relate to Daler mehndi and the likes..

However, things are changing and good punjabi songs are coming to forefront…

There is this one.. which has been a favorite for a long long time now… which has been translated in English here..

Saiyyan By Kailash Kher

There are some songs which keep haunting you.
And recently, I came across such a song, “Saiyyan” by Kailash Kher. Its slow, but very melodious. Its a simple song, with beautiful lyrics and Kailash Kher’s rustic voice.
Not only it touches your heart, but the sincerity in his voice and the lyrics, makes you feel the emotions that are being talked about in the song.

I am not posting the video as I didnt think it did complete justice to the song.. My friends on facebook can go and check it out there…

As for the rest.. I am sure u will manage
